Notary Signing Agent

Show your love this month by making sure your documents such as power of attorney and advanced health care directive are up to date. It may be difficult for you to assign these documents later. You and your family will have peace of mind when completed.

Today even though there is a move to get away from paper, there is always a need for a Notary Signing Agent. Paper documents have not and show no signs of going away, even if they every do there is going to always be a need for someone to preform these duties. How the law changes to deal with in the future will wait for the future. Now today what does a notary signing agent do and why are they still needed?

The job of a notary signing agent is not just the typically run of the mill notaries and mind this is a profession that does require a set of state guidelines to follow. No this agent is one who is a specialist that works to see the closing of mortgages. This process starts with a mortgage lender, title firm and escrow company, that pay a member of the Notary Signing Agent professionals to work with the consumer on making the closing a loan go as smooth as possible. The job entails things like collecting and notarizing signatures on documents, which they have helped to see them moved right along in the system. One more step is the delivery of settlement checks during the closing section of the loan process. There is a greater degree of opportunity for an individual entrepreneur who is interested.

The field is more specialized then just a notary and offers the potential to have a good return on the investment involved in getting into the field, through testing, classes, certifications and other requirements set forth by state law. To get through this process there are requirements that need to be meet, as set forth by the NNA. Which provides training courses that offer up the necessary package to gain the NNA certified notary signing agent. To make this happen and provide safeguards, there are requirements as mentioned before. The course work is required to maintain compliance with industry regulations. Completion of the course work for an individual can offer a rewarding career and lifestyle, for this up to the challenge. For example here is one university that offers course work and the application process, but for only it’s employees at Notary Signing Agent. Read the for more general information.

A Notary Signing Agent is a notary public who signs loan documents. Throughout the years notaries have helped escrow and loan officers to sign their clients loan packages. Recently there has been a tend in educating the notaries about these packages further by offering classes. (Also this is a way for Notary associations to make money through classes and selling supplies.) It is up to the notary to decide if formal education is needed to perform loan signings.

Many companies hire notaries to do loan signings. NOTARIES BE CAREFUL who you do business with, make sure you get paid. I know I was personally ripped off by Ameriquest and so were other fellow notaries. Ask other notaries who they do business with.

Notary Publics' are regulated by the Secretary of State for each individual state.  Therefore, a notary may only do notaries physically in the state in which they are licensed.

To find a notary that did a past notarization, look at the SEAL (stamp) on the document.  Contact the county recorder in the state of the county that is on the seal.

A notary creates a public record of events. A notary shows that on a specific day something happened such as papers being signed mutually and more. These papers can then be brought up as proof in a court of law.
